G.O.D. is a group based on the "Mosaic Factor”: Just as a master artist uses broken pieces of glass, pottery and other materials to create a beautiful mosaic picture, God uses the broken pieces of our lives to create a masterpiece only he can envision."
This group focusing on inner city at risk girls uses journaling, art and discussion to discover Gods purpose for their lives, by revealing how the seemingly jagged and rough edges of our lives are part of a much bigger picture. We currently meet at the home of Amy Miller, director of Girls Life every other Saturday. During the summer we meet for a time of fellowship from 1PM-3PM and initiate our discussion time at 3PM. Some of the discussion topics include: Self-Esteem, Purpsoe, Values, Power of Forgiveness, and Boundaries with Guys. This time of sharing has created an environment of trust where the girls feel comfortable being transparent with each other. One of our primary goals is to help each girl find Christ and therefore discover their purpose, gifts, and potential. |
