Outreach is an integral part of the Life Enrichment Center mission. It involves individual and collaborative efforts to address the diverse needs of the homeless and other underserved residents of the city. We are committed to mobilizing area churches, city and civic organizations, and businesses to find viable solutions to the challenges that confront at-risk populations.
At designated times throughout the year we partner with the Judeo Christian Outreach Center in Virginia Beach to feed the poor and homeless. We also partner with Park Place United Methodist Church to feed those who are challenged economically in the Park Place community. During the year we visit Ballentine and Sentara Nursing Home facilities to bring encouragement and hope to the residents. Partnerships with the Salvation Army and other local organizations are pursued to ensure that the needs of underserved populations are addressed in a caring manner. In August, we distribute backpacks with school supplies to youth in the community. In November, turkeys are distributed to community residents, and in December, dinner is served and gifts are distributed to the elderly and disabled. |
