Kevin H. Turpin

Kevin Turpin is the founder and director of the Life Enrichment Center of Norfolk, an outreach program which targets at-risk populations in Norfolk.  He also is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Tidewater Community College, Norfolk campus and serves as an Assistant Pastor at New Life Providence, a multi-ethnic church in Virginia Beach. 

Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Buffalo as well as a Master’s in Counseling from Canisius College and a Master’s in Practical Theology from Regent University.

He has a passion to assist individuals who are committed to pursuing their goals despite challenging life circumstances.

He is a Leadership of Hampton Roads graduate, involved in literacy and mentoring programs for at-risk youth and adult populations, and facilitates initiatives mobilizing individuals and groups to care for the homeless populations in Hampton Roads.  A vision to see community transformation motivates his involvement in community and city initiatives that empower individuals to experience success in life.

 

Sandra J. Christmas

As the assistant to the director, Sandra J. Christmas coordinates the tutoring initiatives at the Life Enrichment Center for adults and at Covenant Place, a trauma group home, for female adolescents.  She also coordinates Girls Life, a mentoring program for at-risk girls attending Blair Middle School.  Along with Kevin and Wanda Turpin, she assists with various outreach initiatives. 

Sandra is also a licensed minister of New Life Providence Church, a Life-forming Leadership Coach, and the founder and director of EWES Ministries, Inc. whose mission is to equip women for excellent service in their diverse roles.  She prepares women residing in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center and Freedom House, a transitional home for ex-offenders, for reentry into the community and workplace.

Sandra earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Coppin State College in Maryland and Master of Arts degrees in Human Services Counseling and Practical Theology from Regent University in Virginia.

Her passion is to see all women enriched, equipped, transformed, and released to attain a better quality of life and pass their experiences, wisdom, and knowledge on to others.
